Dementia Friendly Alabama, with the help of Central Alabama Aging Consortium and AMES Inc., has purchased several robotic companion pets now available to support those with dementia and their caregivers! These pets are designated for seniors in Autauga, Elmore, and Montgomery counties that have Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia.

Robotic companion pets have been shown to have a remarkable effect on seniors with dementia. They are calming, soothing, and bring the person back to a time in their life when they felt useful and had a sense of purpose.
